Miracle potion?

Men would do anything for sex and women, beauty and money? Indeed, this is the reality that would make everyone very much of a cynic. I came across a dreadfully shocking article in a local Chinese magazine not long ago. Although I had my own experience in relation with the same issue, but I had never been more shocking to see the gruesome graphic pictures that accompanied the article.

The article highlighted about the cannibalism-related issue that still taking place in China. It was not about eating human flesh, but consuming nutritious soups of aborted foetuses with herbs. These nutritious soups were believed to have aphrodisiac properties for men, and rejuvenating and anti-aging for women.

The process started like this. It stated the incident took place in the countryside of Guangdong province. A pregnant woman would go to the village health centers or clinics to determine the gender of her baby. And usually, if the foetus was found to be a female, the mother would opt to abort the foetus and then sell her to the restaurateurs. The middle person would give an initial ‘hong bau’ (red packet with money) of several hundreds Renminbi to the mother. And when the foetus reached ‘maturity’, usually 5 months or above, the mother would abort it in the clinic as part of the deal. After the foetus was taken away, she would receive another hong bau of 2,000 Renminbi, as an ‘adoption fees’ of the (foetus). Some other mothers would sell their full-term babies, after delivering them naturally.

The (dead) foetus then would be send to restaurant. She would be cleaned and then boiled with low heat with some Chinese herbs. The price of a clay pot of this nutritious foetus soup cost 3,500 to 4,000 Renminbi. And they believed that a seven months old foetus was the most nutritious.

62 years old Mr. Wang, a regular customer of the restaurant generously revealed about the gruesome soups that he consumed on a regular basis. And he claimed that he had a 19 years old mistress and was able to have sexual intercourse every night!

Now, my own encounter. About 7-8 years ago, I met a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioner who told me about a very potent ‘miracle potion’ that he made and sold, of which would make a woman looked many years younger. Skin would become fairer and smoother, breasts would become larger and firmer, shapelier butts and hips and overall improvement. (What a super beauty solution! Any grandmothers could become the next Miss Universe!). At that time he was supplying his product to some beauty salons in Kuala Lumpur, where the buyers usually were the rich wives.

And of course, I became very skeptical and cynical about this entire miracle thingy. And I almost sure that he was a quack practitioner selling super quack remedies when he told me about the price of his ‘miracle potion’. It cost RM 7,000 (US 1,842) for only a 3 month’s supply! And if one stops taking it, one would return to how one used to be. So, its effect was NOT permanent! And the maintenance cost was equal to a GDP per capita of a small nation!

But nonetheless, I inquired more, to satisfy my curiosity. He didn’t seem to hold anything back, and continue to explain about the process of making his super potion. It would take him months to accumulate enough aborted foetuses of all stages of pregnancy from certain hospitals or clinics. Abortion was illegal in Malaysia, but things could be done if there was a transaction. So, with money, any problems could be solved.

The (dead) foetuses that he obtained would be sun-dried, then dehydrated and next, pulverized into powder form. Together with some pulverized herbs, it was filled into the regular medicine capsules. So, his ‘miracle potion’ was actually in a convenient capsule form and was kept in bottles, and to be taken just like any vitamin supplements.

Before I read the article mentioned above, I could hardly believe a word from the TCM practitioner. But things seem to tally with the information provided by the article and its graphic pictures, of course. So, if they are real, then the foetus-consuming cannibalism also existed in Kuala Lumpur!

Note: I’ve posted one of the gruesome pictures from the magazine, where it shows a 5 month old female foetus on the chopping board next to a knife, ready to be slaughtered. But I'm not sure if AsiaFind would allow it to be posted.

this is terrible...!!!!!!!!!!! and when I write things about sex, some think that is is out of line or such... nothing I can write can even begin to be as horrible as this... see the vainity and the compulsion for sex.. is deiving any people to these extermes.. is outrageous.. next someone will come up with eating babies after they are born..just for the sake of looks and sex..
why can't they just take viagra if it's about sex..and we are going to age.. regardless of what we do.. scientist have discovered that the outer part of the cell's membrane is what has an effect on aging, and causes the outer to mis communicate with the inner celluar properties... eating babies, is not going to fix that..!!! put a 20 year old woman in bed with an 80 year old man.. and he should get aroused and be able to have sex..!!!naturally.... how ever long it takes.. there is something he can do... as they say.. when you get too old to cut the mustard, you can alway like out the jar.. that phrase implies something... and Ive heard it since I was a kid...
there should be some humane things that can deal with this, and what is the trip with killing girl babies.. that sounds too much like people who want a pet.. but don't want a female pet, because it may produce offsprings.. this irriteates me to no end.....it's repulsive.. and yes.. it's a form of cannibalism.. I love sex.. but I am not going to eat a baby to have sex.. when I am too old to perform by my sex organ.. I can most certainly entertain the "mustard program"... as a matter of fact.. I'll keep that habit in practice.. anyway... but.. that's sick .. to eat a baby, and then spend all that money to do so.. and I bet the same people walk around and pretend they are so non-sexually motivated and so sophistacited in some pretentious manner, that they don't engage for this reason or that.. but will resort to eating babies.. so they can get off.. sexually...
now tell me... what role does sex play in the lives of people when the truth hits the surface.

Thanks friends, for your responses. Toukki, since the foetuses potion is so expensive, there's another more inferior and cheaper type, made of sheep's embryo. I think you might have heard of it.

And since the foetus thingy made my cringed and nauseous, let alone the price, I bought the one made of sheep's embryo instead, from the same TCM practitioner. It cost about RM 1,500 for 6-7 months' supply. Taking it like vitamin supplements was very neccessary, as working in nightclubs was extremely stressful and nerve wrecking, making me broke down many times. Together with drinking too much alcohol and sleeping at 3 am had made me looked very haggard and sick, many years older than my real age. The sheep embryo was then my miracle potion! Other girls also took the similar supplements.

Oh 7575plsk, you were right. The tyical Chinese are very proud of their 5 millieneum history, and they never mention about the shortcomings or negative histories that took place throughout the Chinese civilisation. And you know, the inventions of the Chinese throughout the 5 millineums may be numbered on the fingers of ONE HAND!...hah!

To mistyferm.
If Chinese had not been so genirous with their wisdom and had known how to protect their intellectural properties, chinese would have been the most powerful nation in the world!

I came upon your blogs and saw what a wonderful writer you were. I just kept reading them all, right through to the end. I'll be amoung the first to buy your book, if you ever decide to get published.
But please, please tell me that your "Miracle Potion" is a work of fiction.

My dearest readers and friends,

Like wise, I do hope this entire foetus potion thingy is fictitious. But I'm afraid it really happens in the reality. Taking certain Chinese medicines and together with Qi Gong or other forms of ancient exercises could actually reverse-aging and cure certain illness.

And uh, the potion made of sheep embryo that I took last time really worked! My skin become fairer and smoother, my chest become bigger and perkier, my hair became smoother and silkier and many more positive results. Now there are lots of ads of these sheep embryo supplements and they comes in many brandnames.

So, I thought what would happen if I ever take those foetus thingy, of which the TCM practitioner claimed it was 10-folds more effective than the sheep embryo. Just a thought. I will NOT take them if even I'm paid to. I do not want to have nightmares where these foetuses would haunt me and make me vomit out their, torsos, limbs, heads, and so on....heh.
