Woman with a rooster hat for an interview!

I've written about Kokusai Koryu (International Relations in Japan) to one of my earlier blogs. I remember it now, " SLEEPING TRANSLATOR"

This is just the continuation of what had happened during one of our lectures. It was November two years ago. We are having fun in our lessons and I started a topic about our Philippine musical instrument, we call it BANDURIA! In my country , if you're from public school, most students are taught how to use this instrument. It is like a mandolin with 14 strings. Banduria group is called RONDALLA. The group composed of BANDURIA itself, OCTAVINA(looks like a small guitar with 8-9 strings), BAJO (bass guitar), GUITARA (guitar)! These instruments are used or played for our foldance and folksongs!

While pantomiming, as if i'm playing the instrument, one of my friends started to dance some steps of TINIKLING (bamboo dance)! I stopped my crazy pantomiming and joined her to dance as if we really are dancing with bamboos. we never thought that the man who's watching us was a NGO, famous here in TOHOKU! He kept on requesting some samples of our folkdance, and even asked to hear some folksongs too! We really don't have an idea who is this man. We're just doing what we thought just for fun for the group.

He started showing to us some pictures of his whereabbouts in Asia. And his convincing words are flying like TSUNAMI! We thought that he was just boasting! His project is more on Asia small business, I really don't have any idea, or maybe not so interested knowing it! What the heck, we are there to study though I always start to spoil the lesson! Bad girl huh! Because it's so boring!!!

He started to tell us just what he dreamed about the future of our hidden talents if in case we form a group. Okey, okey, my other friends are not talents (one who do shows)like me! There i've learned that one of the members was a former Highschool principal in Paranaque who had a chance to play banduria on TV when she was in elementary! Then the other one, was a former school councelor and also a ballroom dancing, aerobics and foldancing instructor! And me the singer! Look just what kind of group I found! A music teacher, a dance choreographer, and a singer! WOW, what a group!

We started to form the group and recieved the first initial payment just for the instruments, costumes and props for dancing. Actually we forgot about our Japanese teacher and ignored his lessons. But he was the first one to give us the first show in the city hall!

My members were so talented that we don't have to go to the dressmaker to make our costumes instead, the dance instructor knew how to sew! The ex principal knew how to cook many, Filipino foods. And I knew how to fake their faces to look gorgeous in front of cameras, I took the makeup artist job and the negotiator. They're beauty and posture had faded when they got married. So it's MAGIC TIME!

Too much for the introduction of how this group was formed. We did lot's of shows and mostly in the provinces. Some members of KOKUSAI KORYU, those with business, travels with us! Turkish sells his carpets from Persia, Koreans sells his KIMCHI (my favorite), Thailander for their food, and many other more. Before doing our shows, lot's of posters are pasted on the train stations, inside the train, anywhere that is legal to post. Also some interview from the local newspaper journalist. I really don't pay too much attention on what he's asking to me. I was bothered too much by the photographer. But gosh, when I saw the newspaper after 3 days my face or my picture was printed so big that all of the staff members congratulate me! I should've known, I don't like my facial expression on that picture. Well, there's nothing I can do but improve my gestures next time ifever there's another interview.

NOW, a phonecall from the NGO, NHK (one of Japan's Television Network), wants to have an interview with the woman who had a rooster on her head! Haaaaah, I remembered that was my last picture in the newspaper! Now my non-professional group are about to be interviewed by the NHK! Wow, my group was so excited. NHK had just finished making the Brazilian way of life in Japan. Now they wanted to feature us Filipinos about our way of living and about our country!

Interview will be next week! I'm so excited and rehearsing some probable answers to their questions. Wish me luck not to forget my Japanese language during the interview!

Elle, you're censored again!

What's really happening here. Why do they have to delete some posts of my responders? Don't we have the right to delete it ourselves? What's the use of "DELETE THIS COMMENT" in every posts.

Actually, the interview was yersterday.......I hadn't had the chance to be interviewed. I had a wedding show last night at around 5 pm and the interview time is 5 pm too.

My friends called this morning informing me what happened. They told the NHK that I am at work so if they wanted to interview me they must seem me during my worktime. Okey, that'S it, NHK decided to resume the interview but instead asked for my video singing and dancing. They also asked for a copy of our pictures and also my solo pictures.

It's ok, someone must be waiting for that interview on tv to appear. Oh my gosh and they will know where I am. Shocking!!!!!!

Oh well thankyou Dark!

I wasn't that sure at first, forming this kind of group, is really hard! But everybody are willing to do it so we pursued!

I can't imagine that these group which I will rate as non proffessional dancers are on tv. Isn't it GREAT!

I trusted my members and maybe they also trusted me that we became very solid. I need to learn more how to motivate people to bring out the best in theirselves!

About Elle, we use our own language that's why we are always censored. Is it BAD?

Proud to be a Filipino...I was once an auditoner at Sangley Bernabe promotions near Ramada Hotel...A folk singer back in the 80's, got lots of plan but ended up here in Manila, which I consider as an achievement. Imagine me singing at night and studying at daytime...too tiring but fulfilling for it was my dream to sing on those folkhouses around metro and the University belt in Recto...

Guess we can exchange stories if we have the chance to chat at YM...Drop me a line on my E-mail box...Pwede?

Take Care!

Tha's surprising! I am from Bellestar Prom.

I know the feeling of those who work at recto or folkhouses. I also did some local shows always beside the piano. Back-up singer in every concerts, I also did stage acting in Metropolitan Theater. My last local show was in Shinju no mori in Makati, GMA, Enchanted Kingdom, clark Air Base, anywhere.

Choreographers like me because they feel like I am one of them, X-Men! And whenever were together they felt as if they turned int o a woman! Crazy bakla!

I also have friends but they are rock bands. Maybe you know 'bout Harley Alarcon many time winner as great drummer of the year! Well actually my ex!

We are neighbors since you lived in Valenzuela my parents lived in Deparo. I live alone in Antipolo! But whenever i'm back in Phils. I go home to nanay and tatay! Kze baby pa ko eh!
