Our democracy will die 2....

Now that the "New York Times" editorial has revealed its own view of what's happening here in our country, I can attest that there is indeed a conspiring effort to bring down the present government of Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

Would you believe that her detractors are shouting out in protest not for the sake of the common people's welfare but that of gaining the elusive position so as to pursue their own self interest and political gains.

A constitutional charter change is being push through, and both Senate and the Lower House of Congress are divided on the issue not because of the benificial economic change it will derive thereafter, but the fear of losing their powers and the early cut-off of their mandated terms.

Our lady President is indeed an honest to goodness ally of Pres. George W. Bush, because of the anti- terrorist policy both government perceived and imparted as the best security measures within the South East Asian Region. Considering that the Philippines is still the strategical partner of the US in the Far East, we do remain within the policies perpetually.

Unless we find a better way of guarding our democracy, Our present Government must stay in power so as not to create a chaotic scenario and put our nation in peril.

As the saying goes..."choose the lesser evil"

the factions that populate and infiltrate some of the outer lying islands, who are had to deal with is much of the problem.. and the connections they have to money, and the ability to influence so much and so many into converting, by eaither money, threat's or fear..

what's needed is a great economic policy that can bring the earned wage up to be competetive on the world stage. the education level is very high in your cities, and that need's to mobolize and reach out and collectively ban together to build the union that you speak of... and when that happens it can began the process to curtail corruption .. it can't be done by the outside... so the US support is great, but it can only support what the people promote and stand behind... or else it's money down the drain.

What the Phillipines was before the Japanese invaded the region, it must again strive to be and rebuild.. it had the vastness of cultural mixture, and was a point of good commercial significant...
when the people recall their pre-world war two history and make the connected agreements with the power center's of Asia.. the Phillipines will and can become strong and democratic with a solidity.. the President cannot do it alone.. and attacking the president as some factions are doing, only brings more dis-array, by allowing the gurellia's to become more powerful and fight among themselves and thus bring chaos to the whole of the Phillipines..
It's the people who must work to support the system.. instead of seeking to passively co exist with the corruption.. when they beome proactive and deal with the corruption from a different angle..they can have a different society.. It was rather sad, that the public push for the Submarine base to be forced out like it was, without understanding the stability that it brought to the economy in the general of the region..maybe people should consider and think about how that happen and what was their stand in the demise of such. and what can they do to try and reverse things.
within your region, the people mixture is of all the asian blends of people... so there is many avenues for support.. but it must be and organized and unified outreach.

Fedders,
It's best to stay away from both evils as much as you can. Politics without corruption is like tea without the water. It just doesn't happen. Let them fight it out amongst themselves and go on living a happy life.
