A beautiful actress from Beijing...

Who could ever forgotten the flying Governor's in Ang Lee's classic hit "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon". The petite young lady who was a former student in a secondary school affiliated with the Beijing Dancing School, and at age 11 made her a gymnasts and a dancer at a young age, while living along with her family in China's capital city, Beijing.

At 15 , as a , she enrolled at Beijing Central Drama Academy, and became an aspiring actress, where she gets her talent and able to portray and give life to a role as a country lass in the film "The Long Road".

Although she had little knowledge in martial arts, her sleek dancing move win her a part on a Hollywood movie production done with the famous Jackie Chan in "Rush Hour 2", Historical martial arts movie with Jet Li in "The Hero", and lately, the famous award winning drama movie,"Memoirs of a Geisha".

Product endorser of a shampoo,Tag Huer, Maybeline, Visa card. These were just a part of the accomplishment of this hardworking lady, loaded of full intense and aspiration that made her reach the peak of her prime and success.

My salute to a simple Chinese Girl who captured the hearts of many...an inspiring life of hardwork and determination to shine as a star.

Asianfriend,

Apart from all the success...she will be the Asian feature profile in the May edition of National Geographic Special.

Maybe you're right about her acting prowess...one thing to add is the sheer of lady luck that she gets these days...

Is it her looks that shines or the guts and wits?

jenny,

Since it came from both of you that Gong Li is much better ,must be better to see one of her movie so I can judge it myself ...

But I'll consider your views as accurate for both of you are Chinese ladies and you have the hand to know things about your own fellows...

leejunghong,

I think I should hurry up to find a movie of Gong Li for me to see how good she is?...

Hoping that there are movies where she star in, on our local video rental shop...
