Valhalla

During my yard sale Sunday, I read on the porch because it was raining. I was reading about mythology and got to Norse beliefs. They believed that there were good gods and men and evil giants and wolves. The Valkyrie were lesser god women who rode wolves into battle. They then flew above the battlefield like ravens and choose who was to die. The choosen warriors then cross the rainbow bridge to Valhalla. There they wait until the final battle called Ragnarok-similar to Armageddon. In the battle all the dead warriors will come alive and fight among the gods against the giants. It is already foretold by the fates that the giants will win. The sun will go out and the moon will die. Everything will turn to darkness.

Well, I put the book down when it stopped raining and drove to the grocery store from a back street. When I turned from the back street to the back of the grocery store I was the only one on the street facing a giant rainbow that was complete. I'd never seen one with colors so vibrant. Those coming from the grocery store were oblivious to it. I wanted to shout out, "Hey, turn around and look at that," but I didn't.

I know it's just coincidence. But don't you just love the way fate works?

Go,
Yeah, you know, I don't really like the idea of having to fight giants and knowing already that I'm going to lose, so maybe I'll pass on that, haaaaaaa
