RESPECT

Little girls are taught that men are prince charmings. They will be there to protect them from the wicked stepsisters. They will be there to support them financially with the castle, gorgeous gowns, and the finest food. They will provide entertainment for them with frequent balls and loads of romance, jewelry and flowers. Nothing more happens until after marriage.

Little boys are taught that girls have cooties. As girls, they are merely annoying trying to prove they are better than boys. As women they are scantily clad, temporary, objects, with no feelings for anything other than doing it. At most men expect friends with benefits. If a baby comes, it's the damn slut's fault. They will do this to trick men to suck them dry of their money. Their mothers are the only virtuous women.

Neither picture is realistic nor healthy. It's important to teach that both males and females are humans and as such have feelings. No one should be used. Relationships are more of a partnership. Neither one is to be the sole support, but two independent people working together, as equally as possible, to share all tasks and financial responsibility. No one is an object. If treated as such the one treated in this manner needs to leave the relationship. And as God's purpose for doing it is to have babies and everyone over ten knows this, it can not be ether's fault should a baby come. Therefore no guilt should be laid on either party. It's also my premise that no one should do it with another unless they consider that having a baby with this person is a good thing, because it could occur. And as it takes two to tango, it should be accepted that both parties who want to do it, want to do it as much as the other. Without mutual respect you have nothing. So teach your well, as early as possible.

Deb,

The last few sentences of this blog reminds me of the hit song "Teach Your Children" by Crosby, Still, Nash,& Young...

And more than I do, I agree with every words in this one...

Unluckily I was not born as a prince charming but a frog...

Kiss me and I will be a prince once again!
