Be A Good One "Whatever you are-Be a good one."-Abraham Lincoln Well, as some of you know, I've taken three civil service exams and have another tomorrow. Right now I could get a job in any one of these fields per the requirements, certifications and tests I've taken: Middle or High School English Teacher Special Education teacher, K-12 Mobile Therapist Behavioral Specialist Consultant Social Worker 2 (Master's Level) Income Case Manager (Welfare Office Worker) Therapeutic Worker (Old Folks Home) Parole Officer Job Coach (for those with MH/MR) Director of Non Profit Organization What I really want to be though is a writer. I do need a day job now though, so one of these will have to do. Pllllllleaaaaaasseeeeeee God, not the Parole Officer one. It pays the same as the others but not because it takes brains, lol.....The requirements are "civil service test, law or mental health education, dangerous work, gun optional." Okay, about that gun thing...lol. I don't think I could shoot anybody. So, I wonder if I can just call the police for backup if I need to make an arrest. Hey, but after six months at it, you automatically get promoted to Parole officer 2 with a three thousand dollar raise. Guess six months is a long time in that line of work...lol! Well, we'll see which one I get called for. Maybe I can apply for local government paid jobs too. The problem with those is that they don't pay as much as the State. Well, what do I want? It's a day job. And I'm stuck in this town. I'll have to do the best I can where I am. |
