DOJ's Corporate Crime Watchdog Resigns, Slamming Trump's Conduct One of the Justice Department’s top corporate crime watchdogs has resigned, declaring that she cannot enforce ethics laws against companies while, she asserts, her own bosses in the Trump administration have been engaging in conduct that she said she would never tolerate in corporations. Hui Chen -- a former Pfizer and Microsoft lawyer who also was a federal prosecutor -- had been the department’s compliance counsel. She left the department in June and broke her silence about her move in a recent LinkedIn post that sounded an alarm about the Trump administration’s behavior. “Trying to hold companies to standards that our current administration is not living up to was creating a cognitive dissonance that I could not overcome," Chen wrote. “To sit across the table from companies and question how committed they were to ethics and compliance felt not only hypocritical, but very much like shuffling the deck chair on the Titanic. Even as I engaged in those questioning and evaluations, on my mind were the numerous lawsuits pending against the President of the United States for everything from violations of the Constitution to conflict of interest, the ongoing investigations of potentially treasonous conducts, and the investigators and prosecutors fired for their pursuits of principles and facts. Those are conducts I would not tolerate seeing in a company, yet I worked under an administration that engaged in exactly those conduct. I wanted no more part in it.” Chen came to the Justice Department in 2015, after officials there created a compliance counsel position to help guide the agency’s enforcement of criminal laws against corporations. A department announcement at the time said Chen would guide the fraud section of the Criminal Division in “the prosecution of business entities, including the existence and effectiveness of any compliance program that a company had in place at the time of the conduct giving rise to the prospect of criminal charges, and whether the corporation has taken meaningful remedial action.” The release also said Chen would help the department make sure that corporations who had negotiated agreements with prosecutors were following through on their commitments to stop violating laws. In recent months, Chen had attracted attention for tweets she posted that were seen as critical of the Trump administration. Chen tweeted her LinkedIn post slamming the Trump administration. In that post, Chen also asserted that she had been muzzled by Justice Department officials. “My ability to do good at a more micro-level, by exchanging ideas with the compliance community on ways to assess the effectiveness of compliance programs, was severely limited,” she wrote. “The management of the Criminal Division, of which the Fraud Section is a part, has persistently prohibited me from public speaking.” Chen was recently interviewed about her LinkedIn post by Matt Kelly of Radical Compliance, which covers compliance laws and policy and which has been reporting on Chen’s battle with Trump officials. 25th Amendment Section 1. In case of the removal of the President from office or of his death or resignation, the Vice President shall become President. Section 2. Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress. Section 3. Whenever the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that he is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, and until he transmits to them a written declaration to the contrary, such powers and duties shall be discharged by the Vice President as Acting President. Section 4. Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President. Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within forty-eight hours for that purpose if not in session. If the Congress, within twenty-one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty-one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two-thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office. I put lots of hope on the special investigator, Robert Mueller who Trump is intend to fire lately. I hope Mr. Mueller can get the TRUTH and FACT about all of these corruption and cover-ups. such as violations of the Constitution to conflict of interest, the ongoing investigations of potentially treasonous conducts, and the investigators and prosecutors fired for their pursuits of principles and facts. Hui Chen is an attorney who has worked at DOJ's Corporate Crime Watchdog for 2 years. We as ordinary citizens don't know how to investigate the inside scandals, cover-ups, we don't have the position or authority to do so either. Now FBI director James Comey and many other attorneys have been fired. We can't know the TRUTH or the FACTS. The last person who can investigate is Mr. Robert Mueller. Trump said Robert Mueller is a good friend, colleague with James Comey before, so Trump intends to fire Robert Mueller. If Mr. Mueller will be fired, we will never see those corruptions, scandals, cover-ups, .... We will be all doom and gloom. Trump can do whatever he wants. Mr. Robert Mueller is our last hope. Honesty is the best policy.

The fact is Hui Chen is just a Mickey Mouse and she it hitting a rock with egg. She couldn't win, she couldn't talk the fact (been muzzled), the only way she could do is to quit her job and tell the world what is going on. We saw FBI director, James Comey had been fired abruptly without any hint from POTUS on May 9, 2017. Many other attorneys in DOJ have been fired, such as Preet Bharara, Sally Quillian Yates, ... So, Hui Chen chose her own fate, she quit instead of been fired. Can't you see that?? She is the egg, Trump is the Rock. Hui Chen came from Taiwan but graduated from prestigious university. But so what?? Her skin is yellow, just like mine. I understand her situation. There is a ceiling. If James Comey could be fired, so could she. Who is the next big guy? I will say the Special Investigator, Robert Mueller. If Mr. Mueller can't investigate the truth fairly, we will all go down like the Titanic ship. Because firing James Comey is just a tip of iceberg, an omen. Nobody can save USA. Honesty is the best policy.

Believe me, I am as patriot as any American in USA. I want USA to be the world leader. I am NOT a lawyer but I care about this country. Please read carefully those words that I underlined, I can't say any better than the lawyer, Hui Chen, who resigned in June from DOJ (Dept of Justice) because she had been muzzled by DOJ. I wanted no more part in it.” I thought USA is a democracy not a dictatorship country. Honesty is the best policy.
