A few weeks ago, Yahoo did a link to the website of Ellen Degeneres. She had a story on people who went away (probably for the Labor Day weekend) only to find the family pet(s) tore up the house!

Funny, yet sad that your most trusted pet (I say that loosely) decides to throw a fit because you were gone.

你去一次旅行。 你的宠物在家。 单独。 宠物(通常是一条狗) 忿怒并且嚼皮家俱。

This happened to me in the 80's when my wife & I had gone out to a party after work. When we returned home (a few hours later), our two young dogs had dragged all the leather shoes into the middle of the living room floor and were in the processing of chewing them to bits. They knew they did wrong because of the 'leopard crawl' when I called their names. You little bastard also came out of my mouth... how appropriate.

Dogs are like that!

I did a home office for a customer who owned a Standard Poodle. For some unknown reason, there were marks in the countertop that the customer claimed were defects in the workmanship. They refused to pay the final bill and we involved getting the contractor to negotiate for us. As the story goes, all the furniture was built-in and not practical to remove to repaint the top. So, we opted to paint (clear topcoat) with all the furniture in-place. We were putting up plastic and tape getting ready to do the work and someone let the poodle out from the back bedroom. The ran into the home office and was jumping from counter to counter looking out the windows to see if their owner was coming home.
We convinced the owner it was caused by their and not us. The contractor suggested they put a glass top on the countertop to protect it. They did and that was the end of that episode.

I try not to use that phrase. Why?
It's an excuse to insult someone... a one second warning you're going to drop a bomb on them.

"No offense Bob, but your unstable personality guarantees all your relationships to be short lived."

There are other ways to get your point across without being degrading, obnoxious or offensive and 'protect' yourself by saying "No Offense"

It appears the future of AsiaFind is pending. With recent changes, one must pay to read messages, both old and sent. This (in my opinion) is a knife in the back to this website and will negatively affect membership. Hopefully, the management of AsiaFind will reconsider and change back to the way it was.

I don't want to debate the debate. This is not the time or the place for that.

I bought a new lawn mower...

Two weeks ago , I blogged about shopping for a lawn mower. I was 'put-off' by the varied user reviews, mostly because they were strong opinion with little facts.
The model I bought also had mixed reviews... very strong opinions of comments by people who either loved it or hated it. Some for the same thing.
One review said it was inferior quality and the next review said it was high quality.... again, these are worthless words unless the reviewer can substantiate what they did or didn't like.

The store only had a floor model of the mower I wanted. Good for me, I got a 10% discount for taking the floor model. I brought the new mower home, took it out of my car, added oil, gasoline and it started right up. I cut most of my front lawn abd had to stop because it was getting dark. It cut easy, didn't bog down, the mulch setting worked perfectly. Although the wheel adjustment mechanism was plastic, changing height of the cut was easy.
My only complaint was the handle bar doesn't have any rubber grip... this is typical of models like this because the shutoff and propel safety run parallel with the handle. That's not an issue to condemn a product.

Today, I started on the back yard where the grass & weeds are 2 feet high in some spots. I pushed this mower hard... much harder than it was designed for and it managed to do the work.

I doubt I'll spend the time to write a review on the retailers website... maybe I should as I feel many of the other comments should be dismissed because of emotion and not fact.

Cellphones and driving...

Some funny comments to my other blog. Maybe cellphones and driving deserves a blog of it's own. I notice people who are holding a cellphone to their head while driving tend to be preoccupied with their conversation and they drive as if it's a video game. They have no fear to tailgate and change lanes without signalling.
No joke, this is a serious problem.

Fake Photos 假照片

Sometimes, I receive e-mail from very young women who attach photos of themselves. In the photos, I can see they are black or mixed race. I didn't come to an Asian dating site to meet black women... hahaha!

有时,我从附上他们自己的照片的非常年轻的妇女得到电子邮件。 在照片内,我能看见他们黑色或者被混合血。 我没来这里遇见黑人妇女。。。 呵呵呵。。。

Typically, their introductions are friendly... too friendly, as if they actually know me. Immediately, I suspect this person.

This week, I received such an e-mail. I used the Google photo search tool and found out the photos I received came from the website of a famous actress in Ghana, Africa. Yes, the photos were stolen.

这星期,我得到这样的一封电子邮件。 我使用google 工具搜寻这照片。 我发现照片在加纳,非洲来自一名著名的女演员。 是的,照片被从她的网站偷。

I reported this member. A day later, the profile was still active. I reported them again... and again the profile is active. It's been 4 times I reported this member for having stolen photos... but the profile hasn't been closed. This is not like AFF, because they are quick to close fake profiles. Why this one is active is a mystery to me.

05/31/1948 - 09/25/1980
Drummer for the rock band Led Zeppelin who died at the age of 32... 32 years ago. John would have turned 64 years old today.

If you were a fan of the 1960's band LED ZEPPELIN, you would know how talented John's drumming was. He had a very strong syncopated rhythm that was very distinctive.

He was such an important part of the group, they disbanded after his death.

John Bonham

John Bonham, considered to be one of the greatest drummers in history of the rock music, died from vomit inhalation after consuming an excessive amount of alcohol.

An iPhone a day keeps the profits away...

Apple released the iPhone5 and millions clamored to be the first to order one.
Have you noticed, the price of Apple products are more than their (Blackberry, Android, etc.) competitors?

That means that wireless services have to wait longer to begin making profits on the iPhones than other phones. In theory...

Let's say you buy an HTC android phone that costs your carrier $250 and you are paying the difference of the promotion of $100. You sign a 2-year contract with penalty for early cancellation. Apple charges more, so the carrier could be paying as much as $400. They don't turn a profit on the phone until longer into the term of the contract. Consumers are paying $200 to secure a 16gig iPhone5 now.

Got to be a tweak... Why would any company want to sell iPhones if it took longer to make a profit? Because... services (that often are included with other phones) are extra with the iPhone. That's really where they make a profit. Unlimited texting and video e-mail (chick-ching) GPS (chick-ching) Data plan (chick-ching) protection-pack (chick-ching) parental controls (chick-ching) not to mention 100+ gadgets and applications already on the market (chick-ching)

So dig deep if you want to have the latest in Apple Technology.

Every day, I see 25 to 35 year old women looking at my profile. Ha-ha! It's internet... In the real world this doesn't happen.
Well, not in my world. The woman attracted to me are closer to my age.

Once a month the same woman sends me a message.
She is under 30 and I have no intentions of taking it further than a smile... and calling her ''.

Hopefully, she understands my position.

I'm sure lots of American guys my age receive winks and messages from women half our age... hopefully, they have sense enough to realize the game.
