In the news this weekend, was a story about two un-leashed pit bulls attacking a man who was walking his Jack Russell terrier on a dock at Catalina Island. From what I've been told, he was on a section of the pier used to access fishing boats as he and his dog (a Jack Russell Terrier) were on their way to a boat when a woman who had two unleashed pit bulls attacked the man and his dog. The man was hospitalized as one of the dogs took a chunk from his arm and leg. The injury is so severe he will need multiple surgeries.

I don't know about other places, but I recall there was once a ban on pit bulls in Miami, then I heard you had to carry liability insurance. That requirement must have been lifted as I see more pit bulls around than ever before.

I asked a coworker if she would place some orders for me and she replied:
"I'm a little busy right now."

I replied "Good, can you do this next?"
She looked at me strangely explaining she already had a several orders waiting to process.

My response to her saying she was a little busy meant (to me) she didn't have much to do. If she had said she was very busy, I would have handled it differently.

Friend Finder suffered a stroke...

In the wee hours of the morning yesterday, Asia Friend Finder got dizzy and blacked out for the afternoon. One of the technicians called 911 where police and paramedics had arrived to find the lights were on, but no one was home.
They believed a hard drive in the mainframe had crashed and the backup hard drives were overloaded trying to keep the website online. After a hardware change, 20 aspirins and a few Hail Mary's Asia Friend finder started showing signs of a pulse.
By midnight, all things were better as Asia Friend Finder began to recognize visitors in the room and little-by-little, things became more normal.

Jimi Hendrix opened for The Monkees...

Probably 6 of the 12 people who read my blogs will understand who I'm talking about.

.
It was a known fact that the members of the 1960's pop group The Monkees had auditioned for their parts in a new TV show. They responded to an advertisement in Variety magazine and though each had some musical background, unfortunately, they were chosen for their looks as their musical talent wasn't what the producers wanted or was not good enough (according to the management company) to record on their albums.

Except for their voices, everything else was recorded/produced with seasoned studio musicians and recording engineers. Actually, that's not new for the music industry. I plan to do future blogs on the subject.

To promote their show and albums, The Monkees had to do live concerts. Live concerts involved opening acts... one of those acts involved Jimi Hendrix. You know, Jimi that that guitarist who played screaming loud psychedelic music. One small problem... the audience was pre- and teenage girls! They were the ones screaming and it wasn't for Jimi. That didn't fit. Obviously, someone wasn't thinking clearly to sign Jimi for that gig.

At some point, years later, Michael Nesmith, guitarist for The Monkees pushed for their control over the artistic rights and was allowed to influence (and play) on future albums... that was the kiss of death for the band. they were no longer pop-music relevant and faded away.

I see in the news today, Nesmith is promoting an autobiography and noted about their bad experience with the Jimi Hendrix Experience.

Bruce... oh, sorry... Caitlyn Jenner was in the news this week regarding his/her gender reassignment.
I would have thought with all the hoopla that happened a long time ago.
You mean we were duped that it was only hormone therapy? C'mon...

It was just a few short years ago Glamour Magazine named Bruce Jenner "Woman of the Year" how could you be a woman if you're still wearing a furburger with a handle? Seriously, that was a slap in the face to real women.

So it's done. Castrato as they say in the Italian Opera circles... Bruce, can you hit the high notes now?

It's amazing how the media feeds on that crap.

Pumping your buttocks with cement...

South Florida is a special place where people pay 'big bucks' for body enhancement. Notice cement is part of that word. This week, I read some news reports about a Fort Lauderdale woman who was sentenced to 10 years in prison (with 5 years of probation) for the death of her patient who received 10 injections of chemicals to enlarge her butt. The story claims the mixture included Fix-a-Flat, cement, silicone, mineral oil and Super Glue.

The woman charged had already served prison time for practicing medicine without a license. Previously, she had administered breast injections to a woman causing cysts and reportedly left countless other women scarred for life.

Of course at the bottom of one story had Kim Kardashian revealing she too had butt injections. So there... that's all the reason to get your butt 'jacked up with cement'

I logged on this afternoon to find the website in total dysfunction.
The top menu bar is gone and everything is crowded along the left side of the page as though some programmer missed a few important formatting lines of code.
