"Humans experience love as a feeling, a passion, or even at times as a delirium, an illness – even an incurable illness! True love is none of these things: it is a state of consciousness we arrive at only when we have walked the path of inner development for a long time.
True love is the reward given to those who understand that, in order to be completely happy, they must move closer each day to the world of purity, harmony and light – the world of God himself. And since God is the source of love, when they make the effort to raise themselves up to him they receive the greatest gift of all: they begin to feel they can extend their love to the whole world, to all creatures and all of creation. They no longer focus their attention and thoughts exclusively on one human creature, expecting this person to satisfy their wishes and needs, an expectation that leads inevitably to suffering and disappointment. Each day they move closer to divine love, the only love that can fill their heart and soul."

"The cube’s compact form has made it a symbol of stability, as well as a figure of limitation, enclosure and imprisonment. But if it is opened out so that it becomes a cross, what we see is a kind of liberation. Yes, this is why we must not view the cross solely as an instrument of suffering and death; it is also a cosmic symbol expressing all of life’s possibilities.
In the Gospel texts themselves, Jesus’ death is followed by his resurrection. Why? Because death is not final; it is a necessary preparatory stage for resurrection. Of course, here we need to understand resurrection from a symbolic and spiritual perspective, not a physical one. Resurrection implies firstly death and then a process of transformation, which occurs in successive phases. It can therefore be likened to a new birth."

"Take a handful of earth, hold it for a moment, and think of all the elements the Creator has placed in it so that the millions of plants and, through them, all living creatures could survive because of it. These days, unfortunately, most of the fruit and vegetables we eat are full of negative influences – and that’s without mentioning fertilizers and pesticides! With the passage of time, the earth has become a huge cemetery drenched in the blood of humans and steeped in their crimes. And as those who cultivate the soil often do so with no respect or love, or even in a state of inner rebellion, their thoughts and feelings enter the seeds and poison them. Humanity is endlessly creating unhealthy living conditions for itself out of ignorance.
How helpful it would be to relearn the art of agriculture according to initiatic rules! These rules were known and respected in the past by certain civilizations, and maybe they still are to a certain extent in some parts of the world. The people who conformed to these rules knew how to work with cosmic energies so that the seeds they placed in the soil would absorb these energies and provide vegetables and fruit that contained the maximum nutritional and health-giving properties."

"Spring is the season of renewal, the time for the energies concentrated in the seed to be released. But in order for this release to occur, the seed must first die. This death is the necessary condition for the sprout to appear and form roots, stem, branches, leaves, flowers and fruit… Until then, the seed is a fixed, inert creature, waiting for the right conditions to perpetuate life and produce fruits, which in turn will provide new seeds.
For a while, the seed definitely seems to be dead, like a corpse left in a tomb. But in the spring, as warmth returns, with every seed comes resurrection – each tiny tomb opens, the stone is removed and the sprout appears. The cause of this resurrection is the light and warmth of the sun. And similarly, for those human beings who have long been exposed to the light and warmth of the spiritual sun, one day the moment arrives for resurrection."

"Why must you always keep an eye on your thoughts, feelings and actions? Because you are inhabited by an entire population of cells that copies your attitudes and behaviour. Each time you allow yourself to overstep the mark, this population takes note and imitates you. So don’t be surprised if you then experience indecision and discomfort. It means you have educated your cells badly through your example, and many disorders and disturbances, both physical and psychological, are the result of this bad education.
You grumble when you work, you knock over chairs, kick doors shut, bump into furniture, throw things… Not long afterwards, something inside doesn’t feel right, and you wonder what is going on. You don’t need to look very far: it is simply that tiny creatures inside you – your cells – have seen how you are behaving and are imitating you: they are grumbling, getting worked up and kicking things...

"A friend has given you an object. Even if it is only a pebble, it can become a talisman for you. When your friend gave it to you, he or she filled it with good vibrations from their heart and soul, and you can feel the effects. But now that it is yours, you have the power to preserve what they put in it. Since the person who transmitted forces to the object is a friend and you know for certain that these forces are beneficial to you, when you touch the object you are perpetuating the movement of the electrons that animate matter.
Objects, like beings, need to be nurtured, and you nurture them with your attention, your thoughts and your feelings. If you forget them, if you leave them somewhere to get covered in dust, they lose their power. What’s more, you can easily observe this, when an object that once represented something important for you one day means nothing anymore. For a while, whenever you passed it you had the impression that it was radiating energy, that it was giving you signs, but now it is dull and says nothing. A talisman’s power always depends on the attention and the faith of its owner. Even if a great mage gives it to you, it is up to you to keep it alive."

"If we are to control our feelings and thoughts, we must begin as early as possible observing the movements we make in daily life. This is the only way to develop the psychic faculties needed to control all instinctive forces. Until we have learned to exercise willpower in the smallest gestures of daily life, we will be unable to control emotions like hate, anger, scorn, disgust and the desire for revenge.
You just have to observe yourself at the table to see that you do not control your hands. You wave your knife and fork around, knock against your glass, drum your fingers on the edge of your plate, crumble your bread, and so on. How do you think you are going to control more powerful impulses, if you have still not managed to control your hands? Even when you meditate, you do not always manage to keep them still. You want to achieve great things? Well, begin with the small things, for it is the small things that will one day succeed in shifting the big ones. "

"Salt is an everyday part of our food. It seems quite natural to put it on the table along with the water and bread. But since it first appeared in the primitive ocean from which the earth gradually emerged, so many events have punctuated its history! Salt is inseparable from our origins. We have a vital need for it. And it does not just give flavour to food, it also preserves it. Do you give a single thought to the salt you sprinkle into a dish or onto your plate? You have a little taste, checking to see that there is enough of it, and your tongue lets you know while your mind wanders off elsewhere.
And yet, isn’t that the time for deciphering the message God is sending you through the salt? What a long way it has had to come, first from the sea, then dried by the sun’s rays, before arriving at your home on your table! And now that it is about to enter you, you can also study its symbolic significance by meditating on Jesus’ words to his disciples: ‘You are the salt of the earth’."

"The snowdrop, which flowers toward the end of winter, announces the imminent arrival of spring. Study it: with what willpower and courage it commands the snow and the earth, ‘Go on, get out of the way! I want to come up!’ And yet it is fragile, it has such tender, delicate petals, and the slightest thing can harm it. But the earth and the snow obey it, they make way for it, and it comes up and flowers. How does it make the earth open up? It possesses an irresistible force within the tiny stem that is starting to come up, and so it prevails. Because love always prevails!
So, what about you? Do you not have greater means than a snowdrop at your disposal? Yes, you do. Only, you do not have enough faith and willpower to tell events, difficulties and limitations, ‘Go on, get out of the way! Let me through! I want to come up. I want to admire and praise the Creator!’ If you persevere like the snowdrop, you will always succeed in freeing yourself, and you will win."

"Whatever your qualities and abilities, do not try to impose on others. Why? Because you arouse in them the wish to confront you. They may be impressed to begin with, and they will respect you, fear you even. But while you think you have been establishing your authority, they will have been doing everything they can to arm themselves against you in secret. And you will have provoked this. Those who display their power awaken others’ aggressive instincts. There are countless ways people are capable of acting when a superior, or so-called superior, has humiliated them with a scornful attitude, curt tone or wounding words.
You will acquire true authority only by cultivating kindness, gentleness and patience. Others may misinterpret your attitude to begin with: they will imagine you are weak and incapable, and they will try to abuse the situation. But persevere; they will soon have to recognize your abilities as well as your inner strength, and then you will win not only their respect but also their friendship."
