"The diamond is considered the most precious stone. But what does a diamond begin as? Carbon which in graphite is black. Well, this carbon, as a result of tremendous pressure and very high temperature, transforms over time into a diamond, the most brilliant of all stones.
When people look in wonder at a diamond, they consider only its appearance and the qualities it now displays. They do not pause to think what it has had to undergo to acquire its brilliance, hardness and resilience, which make it so remarkable. In the same way, when we are before a great sage, a great initiate, we are amazed at the light and strength that emanate from him; we do not think of the difficulties he has had to overcome to acquire them. The history of an initiate is in some ways similar to the history of the diamond. At first, he too may have been only simple carbon, but thanks to the enormous pressures he has had to endure (his ordeals) and the great heat he has produced within himself (his love), he has become a diamond, a pure flash of light. And even though in his physical body he is still alive here on earth, on the spiritual plane he is shining on the crown of an angel, an archangel, a divinity."

"As soon as two people meet and fall in love, they tend to forget the whole world – nothing else exists for them. They are not yet used to living love in a more expansive way, and without realizing it they impoverish and mutilate it. True love embraces all creatures without limits, without putting down roots with just one. This is why, from now on, men and women should be willing to be more broad-minded and less possessive and jealous; this of course will not prevent them from remaining faithful to one another.
When two people who are truly evolved choose one another, they have already granted each other this mutual freedom; each of them is delighted to be able to love all creatures in the greatest purity. Happiness is not about focusing on one person, or two, or ten, or a hundred… it is about loving endlessly. So continue to love those you already love, but make the circle of your love even larger. And expand it until you also have exchanges with all the entities of light from the invisible world, the angels and archangels… Then your family and friends will be enriched, strengthened and purified as a result of all the beauty alive in your heart and soul."

"How many people have allowed themselves to die of sorrow or even committed suicide because of slander, hate mail or poisonous magazine articles! How many artists too, because of negative criticism and mockery! If they succumbed, it is because they did not know something the earth knows very well. What does the earth do with the waste and rubbish we throw at it? It takes it as fertilizer, as very precious material, and uses it to aid the growth of all vegetation. It is thanks to this fertilizer that fruits have colour, fragrance, taste and all kinds of nutritional properties.
So why would human beings not know the secrets that the earth knows? Why must they succumb to the filth of criticism, malicious gossip and slander? If they learn to transform it all, they too will give colourful, fragrant, tasty, nourishing fruits. If they reach this level of understanding, they will end up being convinced that, in spite of appearances, those who are unjustly persecuted are in a better position than their enemies."

"If humans changed their opinion of nature, they would change their destiny! If they think of it as being alive and intelligent, that stones, plants, animals and stars are alive and intelligent, they themselves will become more alive and more intelligent. Nature is the body of the Creator. And so not only must they be more mindful and respectful toward it, but they must also approach it with a feeling of the sacred.
In truth, however humans behave, it makes very little difference to nature: all the acts of aggression they subject it to are only small losses, small cuts in this immense body, the limits of which we cannot even begin to imagine. But what they will destroy first and foremost is themselves. As for nature, once it has got rid of these insane people, it will regain the upper hand: nature is resourceful! So the reason humans must show respect for animals, plants and stones is that their attitude will have consequences for themselves. Their consciousness will deepen, and they will become richer for all that life breathing and vibrating around them.
Think of all the entities inhabiting the universe, from the depths of the earth to the stars, and try to commune with them every day. This communion can only be made through love. If you love nature, you will hear it speaking in you, living in you, for you too are a part of nature."

"Do you want to be happy? Well, don’t expect anyone to think of
you, or understand you or love you. Everyone has their own
preoccupations, their own cares, and if someone is with you one
moment, they may be engaged elsewhere the next. Yes, attention,
friendship and love are very uncertain things, especially love.
It may come, of course; it may come and never leave, but do not
expect it. If you want to be happy, do not expect to be. And not
only that – you yourself must begin by giving love. And that is
easy, for love exists first within yourself. Wherever you go,
whoever you meet, you always have love in your heart, and there
is no shortage of possibilities for expressing it. It is not a
question of loving one particular person but of experiencing love
as a spring that asks only to burst forth, as a radiant energy
that overflows and spreads to infinity. When you discover love is
within you, you will no longer wait for others to love you."

"On 21 December, the winter solstice occurs. This event is placed under the influence of Gabriel, the archangel of Yesod, the sephirah of the Moon. Gabriel means ‘God is my strength.’ A few days later, on 25 December, we celebrate Christmas, the birth of Christ.
The archangel Gabriel commands the forces whose role is to condense matter, which is why symbolically he presides over childbirth. For what is a birth? It is the passage from the invisible to the visible, from the ethereal to the physical. And the Moon, the feminine principle par excellence, has an essential role to play in all forms of incarnation, on the physical plane as well as on the spiritual plane.
During winter, when the nights are longest and the life of nature slows down, conditions are less favourable for outward manifestation and more favourable for turning inward. People are naturally drawn then to go within, to prepare for the birth of the of light, who in certain traditions is symbolized by a pearl. Pearls come from the sea and, like the sea, are connected to the moon. On the sephirotic Tree, the pearl oyster is Yesod, the region in the cosmic body which relates to the genital organs. That is where the pearl must develop. This pearl represents the purest quintessence of love. The pearl oyster is the feminine principle, which brings a pearl, the divine , into the world."

"With old age approaching, we are naturally inclined to look back, and for many people there then begins a period of regrets. They feel they have spent too much time on futile things, but that even if they tried to change course and give more space to their inner life, it is too late; they will never make up for lost time. Obviously, when old age has arrived, it is a bit late for a complete change of life, but it is not too late – it is never too late – to begin something constructive. The worst thing for these people would be to spend the rest of their life full of regrets. It is understandable that they should regret, but there are better things to do than regret. They can at least go back over all the events of their life and try to learn lessons from them. Once they have learned these lessons, let them employ all the love, intelligence and willpower they have left, to give their life the meaning they have not yet been able to find."

"Young people are curious and daring, to the point where they
throw themselves fearlessly into adventures that can harm their
physical and psychological health. And when parents and wiser
adults try to hold them back, they do not listen: what is it with
these narrow-minded, silly, old people, who want to stop them
having experiences and getting to know life?
Getting to know life… The young do not know that, in order to
know what true life is, there are other experiences they can
have, different from the ones where they imagine they will live
more intensely. And when they do know, having read about it in
books, the fact that other people – philosophers, sages, saints
– have had these experiences is sufficient for them. They may
admire these characters and even be able to quote them, but there
is no way they will imitate them! They prefer to imitate those
who have burnt their wings as a result of excesses of all kinds.
Well, it would be preferable if they made do with quoting all
those who have come to a bad end in pathetic adventures
(literature and history are full of them) and tried to live the
experiences of those who have been able to find the path of light
and true love. "

"How often love between two people begins with the exchange of a
look! They see each other from a distance, and with the first
look that passes between them they experience pure joy, like
drinking crystal-clear water flowing down from the mountain tops.
It is only afterwards, when they try to get close so as to have
other exchanges, that things start to become complicated and less
clear. You will say it is impossible to be satisfied with just
gazing at each other. Yes, of course, most love affairs bear that
out. But show me a couple that does not think back nostalgically
to the first looks they exchanged, to their discovery of that
infinitely poetic world."

"Each morning, the moment you wake up, call on joy and love. Instead of starting the day by thinking about the various tasks waiting for you, say, ‘Lord God, thank you for the fact that I am still alive, able to breathe, eat, walk, see, hear, think and love, for these are priceless treasures.’ Then get up, full of joy.
And learn to give thanks also for each instance of unpleasantness in life, as this is the best way to neutralize them. If you start complaining and rebelling, you will become more and more overwhelmed. But if you say, ‘O Lord, thank you; no doubt there is a reason why I have met with this obstacle; there must be something more for me to learn’, you will feel that you are gradually transforming your difficulties into gold and precious stones. Yes, it is as if you were covering them with a gold or crystal dust: they appear in a different light. Nothing can withstand gratitude. So thank heaven each day until you feel that everything that happens to you is for your good. Give thanks for what you have and what you do not have, for what gives you joy and for what makes you suffer. Even if you are unhappy you must find a reason for giving thanks. In this way you will keep the flame of life alight within you."

"Even if we do not pay animals much attention, they are a part of
our life, and there might be a great deal for us to learn from
the life they lead beside us. You speak to an animal, and it
pretends not to understand you; in fact, it can understand very
well, but when it wants to. We do not know what is going on in an
animal’s mind, but perhaps animals know better than we do what
is going on in ours. We do not understand them; they are like
enigmas set down before us, but they understand us, or more
precisely they sense us.
At times, when we are trying to attract the attention of certain
animals, we have a feeling they are hiding something from us. Why
do we have this feeling? Because there may well be astral
entities living in them observing us through their eyes. Yes,
other living, intelligent creatures may be watching us through
the eyes of a dog, a cat or a … This is what sometimes
gives us the strange feeling that they are more than just
animals. In their eyes, we are meeting the gaze of these
entities."
